In Manitoba, ECEs are typically certified at levels based on their training and experience:

• Child Care Assistant (CCA): No post‑sec requirement; must complete 40 hours of ECE‑related training within first year of work.
• ECE II: Two‑year ECE diploma approved by provincial board or via assessment.
• ECE III: ECE II plus specialization/diploma or a relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g. Developmental Studies).
   

These certifications are managed by the Manitoba Child Care Staff Certification Office, and anyone working in licensed childcare programs must hold one of these certifications.
